Mehmooda

Born in the historic neighborhood of Safa Kadal, Kashmir, Mehmooda represents a deep, continuous lineage of master artisans. From an early age, training began under the strict tutelage of family elders.

For decades, Mehmooda has refined the art of Papier-Mâché, focusing specifically on the Base Coat stage of production. Applies the smooth white Gutch base coat in preparation for painting. The workshop remains a sanctuary of traditional methods, where ancestral knowledge is preserved.
